Tyrus Wong was born in Taishan, Guangdong, China on October 25, 1910. Wong worked as a painter, animator, calligrapher, muralist, ceramicist, and lithographer. He had also contributed as film production illustrator with big banners such as Warner Brothers and Disney. After leaving Disney in 1941, Wong moved to Warner Brothers, worked for 26 years as an artist who created the concept of the movie and a story and retired in 1968. Disney parks around the world are celebrating 90 years of Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse with special surprises and events. Disney officially shares a sneak peek at the fancy fashions Mickey and Minnie will wear for the celebration at Walt Disney World Resort, Disneyland Resort, Hong Kong Disneyland, Shanghai Disney Resort and Disney Cruise Line. Mickey Mouse’s crisp white suit will feature a shower of colorful confetti, while fashion icon Minnie Mouse will don a puff-sleeve dress adorned with pompons and a buoyant bubble skirt for the celebration at some of the Disney parks. Belgium celebrated the 60th anniversary of the 'Smurfs' on Tuesday. To celebrate the anniversary, authorities in Brussels have turned the town blue. A special “Smurf Experience” has been laid on at the Brussels Expo park, where visitors can explore a real-life Smurf village. The interactive show is spread over 1,500 square meters. The exhibit boasts nine rooms, including the Smurfs' village, a cage where evil sorcerer Gargamel wants to imprison them, and an array of sound and video presentations. "The Smurf Experience" is the creation of Spanish set designer and story-teller Marcos Vinals Bassols.
