Disney Announces an All-New Sing-along ‘Frozen’

Disney announces the return of ‘Frozen’ to theaters with an all-new sing-along version on January 21 Frozen audiences are invited to join the act—literally—as more than 1000 theaters nationwide introduce an all-new sing-along version of Disney’s Oscar-nominated, Golden Globe-winning big-screen adventure beginning Jan. 31, 2014. “Frozen fans have embraced the film’s original songs and its soundtrack with such passion—there are countless YouTube videos from people singing songs like ‘Let It Go’—we decided to create a version that would celebrate that enthusiasm,” said Dave Hollis, executive vice president, theatrical distribution, The Walt Disney Studios. Box Office Report: Disney’s ‘Frozen’ Crosses $800 Million

Disney blockbuster Frozen continues to make headlines in its tenth week at the box office as it crosses the $800 million mark globally; animated family comedy The Nut Job nabs third place with $12.3 million. In a double victory for Universal, holdovers Ride Along and Lone Survivor remained at the top of the box office chart this past weekend. Starring Kevin Hart and Ice Cube, Ride Along made $21.2 million over its sophomore weekend for a total of $75.4 million and a first-place finish, while Peter Berg’s Afghanistan war drama, Lone Survivor -- now in its fifth week out -- made $12.6 million for a total of $93.6 million. Disney announces succession plan in india

The Walt Disney Company (TWDC) has announced that Managing Director Ronnie Screwvala will step down on 30th June 2014 and Siddharth Roy Kapur, currently Managing Director of Disney UTV’s studio’s business, will take over the Company’s India operations. Siddharth Roy Kapur will become Managing Director of TWDC India effective 1st January 2014, and Screwvala will assist in the transition until 30th June 2014. (more…)
