Emma Watson to Star in Disney’s Live-Action ‘Beauty and The Beast’

Emma Watson will star in Disney’s live-action version of Beauty and the Beast as the lead character Belle. The studio made the announcement on Monday, saying that production will begin later this year. No release date has been set. As announced back in June, the film will be directed by Bill Condon (The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 & 2). David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman of Mandeville Films are producing. (more…)

Oreo Gets 2015 Wonderfilled By Brand New School

Follow up to the holiday-themed Times Square digital experience is a musical romp featuring Brand New School’s trademark playful style. Integrated creative company Brand New School partnered with The Martin Agency and Oreo’s parent company Mondelez International, Inc. to create “Play with Oreo,” the brand’s first Wonderfilled spot of the New Year. As part of an internationally recognized campaign, the spot has been translated into several different languages and will air globally. (more…)

Republic Day Special Shows for Indian Kids Channel

This Republic Day, kids’ channels in India are lining up a list of shows for kids to enjoy on a rare Monday holiday. While elders gloat over US president Barack Obama’s visit to India, the kids will be treated to a special line up of shows on their favourite channels. Most channels are showcasing their prime properties at various times of the day. Nick, which recently announced more Motu Patlu movies in production, will be premiering its first for 2015. Motu Patlu and Khazane Ki Race will air at 10:15 am. Discovery Kids will be showing a special episode of its mega series Kisna in Kisna’s Sthapna Divas. (more…)

DreamWorks Animation cue’s another round of Layoffs

Layoffs are coming to DreamWorks Animation, according to a report by Variety. Earlier this month DWA Chief Creative Officer Bill Damaschke stepped down from his post as veteran producers Bonnie Arnold and Mireille Soria were named co-presidents of the struggling animation studio. Anywhere from 150 to 400 DWA employees will be getting pink-slipped in the coming months at the company’s Glendale and Redwood City, CA locations, with animators, storyboard artists and other production personnel reportedly the most likely to be affected. Turner appointed licensing agent for Mr Bean in Asia

HONG KONG INTERNATIONAL LICENSING SHOW - Tiger Aspect Productions (an Endemol Shine Company) has appointed Turner Broadcasting System Asia Pacific as its exclusive licensing agent in Asia for Mr Bean, effective immediately. Turner Asia Pacific’s dedicated licensing division – Cartoon Network Enterprises – is tasked with driving licensing activity for Mr Bean for the next three years and will represent the brand in key markets in Southeast Asia, as well as India.  (more…)
