Viacom Media Networks first resort in Southeast Asia is slated to open in 2020 Viacom International Media Network (VIMN) is collaborating with Asian resort developer Coral World Park Undersea Resorts on a new Nickelodeon resort and attraction in the Philippines. The attraction will be part of Coral World Park Undersea, a 400-hectare development in the Philippine province of Coron, Palawan that is expected to open in several steps starting in 2018 and is described as the world’s first undersea attraction. Nickelodeon’s part of the resort is slated to open in 2020 and will consist of 70 hectares for accommodation and 30 hectares for the themed attraction. The Walt Disney Company’s U.S. television arm will create shows for Snap Inc’s Snapchat, Disney announced on Wednesday, in Snapchat's latest deal with a major U.S. media company. Financial terms were not disclosed. Snap, which is preparing for next year's initial public offering, has signed a variety of advertising and content agreements this year with Viacom, Comcast’s NBCUniversal and Time Warner Inc’s Turner Broadcasting System Inc. Media companies such as Disney partner with Snapchat in an effort to reach the type of younger viewers the social media company targets, which increasingly eschew traditional television. Turner’s Cartoon Network has tied up with British triathlete brothers Jonathan Brownlee and Alistair Brownlee for the latest phase of their anti-bullying campaign. To mark this year’s National Anti-Bullying Week, Cartoon Network teamed up with Childline, the NSPCC’s leading UK helpline for children and young people, to launch an original series of animated shorts.
