With the opening of a studio in Pune, Legend 3D, the U.S.-based 3D conversion and visual effects studio has taken a major leap into Asia. The facility is a 40,000-square-foot building based in a 10-acre Suzlon “One Earth” campus. It will be connected to Legend 3D facilities in Los Angeles and Toronto by secure digital pipeline to provide protected interconnected workflow. The building has LEED Platinum and GRIHA 5 star certification while the campus has energy controls and building management systems for minimal environmental impact. Ridley Scott’s Blade Runner will celebrate its 35th anniversary this year with the arrival of Denis Villeneuve’s sequel Blade Runner 2049 this Fall . But, just before the film’s theatrical release, Warner Bros. Visual effects studio Weta Digital has started work on the four sequels of James Cameron’s Avatar, one of the highest-grossing films ever.
