At last, the final chapter of the Jedi trilogy is on its way. Disney has revealed the release date for Star Wars: Episode 9. It will hit cinemas on 24 May, 2019. While it had become a tradition t6o release a Star Wars film at the end of the year, Star Wars:  Episode 9 comes as a pleasant surprise. Incidentally the year 2019 is shaping up to be a busy one for Disney and a strong one for the licensing industry as the entertainment giant has confirmed Frozen 2, Toy Story 4 and the live-action film The Lion King will also hit cinemas in 2019. While Toys Story 4 will release on 21 June, The Lion King will roar into cinemas on 19 July and Elsa, Olaf and friends will bring an end to the year with by hitting  to the big screen on 27 November.

Amazon Prime Video has entered into partnership with filmmaker SS Rajamouli, Graphic India and Arka Mediaworks to extend the magnum opus Bahubali by streaming the animated version of the film. “S.S. Somewhat driven by strong growth in Europe and Asia and its new physical/digital play product Nexo Knights, Denmark-based The Lego Group has reported its highest-ever yearly revenue in its 85-year history. Revenue of the company for the year 2016 rose by 6 per cent to US$5.4 billion (DKK 37.9 billion) versus US$5.1 billion (DKK 35.8 billion) in 2015. Excluding foreign exchange impacts year-on-year revenue growth of Lego increased by 5.5 per cent. The majority of Lego’s major markets witnessed a growth last year led by high single-or double-digit increases in all European markets and double-digit growth in the Chinese market. Disney sets US on-demand premiere date of Andi Mock for March 10

  The Disney Channel has tentatively set the US on-demand premiere date of Andi Mack, a new single-cam, live-action series by Terri Minsky, creator of Lizzie McGuire on March 10. Andi Mack features Peyton Elizabeth Lee as the 13-year-old titular character who along with her free-spirited sister, charts teen life living with overprotective parents. The action series has been produced by Horizon Productions and executively produced by Michelle Manning, Minsky and Phil Baker. Aimed for children between six- to 14-year-olds, the show will make its initial debut on the Disney Channel App, Disney.com, Disney Channel, YouTube, iTunes, Amazon and Google Play. In another groundbreaking moment for Beauty and the Beast, the film is to feature the first interracial kiss in a Disney live action film. The romantic rendezvous will be between new character, the piano Cadenza (voiced by Stanley Tucci) and Madame de Garderobe, the wardrobe (voiced by Audra McDonald).
