Genius Brands International has appointed APC Kids as exclusive agent to handle content distribution for its pre-school series Rainbow Rangers throughout EMEA including Russia and ex-CIS countries. The series  follows Earth’s First Responders, a group of girls who protect the environment with their unique personalities and powers. Funrise in a multi-year partnership with Paramount Pictures for Amusement Park

California-based toy manufacturer Funrise has entered into a multi-year partnership to serve as global master toy partner for Paramount Pictures’ animated feature film Amusement Park. Funrise will create a line that includes figures, play sets, plush, role-play and collectibles. Amusement Park is slated for a March 2019 release in the US and Funrise’s products are set to roll out globally early next year. Produced by Paramount Animation, Nickelodeon Movies and Ilion Animation Studios, the 3D-animated adventure/comedy features a voice cast including Matthew Broderick, Jennifer Garner, Kenan Thompson, Ken Jeong, Mila Kunis, John Oliver and Jeffrey Tambor. Playmates Toys has introduced its Mysticons toy line that is based on the new animated action series that airs on Nickelodeon. The line will include an assortment of flying creatures, plush, and role play items, and is available at select Toys “R” Us stores nationwide and online at Toysrus.com and Amazon.com. The line will be available at additional retailers later this year. Funko has teamed up with candy dispenser company PEZ to create a line of dispensers featuring the toy company’s Pop! art style. Featuring Pop! heads on varying dispensers, the line will be available in the US and Canada in the first half of 2018. It will be sold by Funko with PEZ serving as the licensee. The dispensers will be sold in a collector window box meant for display and the characters will be announced in the coming months. Following a deal between Alibaba Entertainment Licensing and the French animation studio Molang, Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba is taking Millimages’ Molang IP further into China. Besides, serving as the exclusive agent for online and offline sales of Molang goods in Mainland China, Alibaba will become the brand’s non-exclusive agent in Hong Kong, Taiwan and Macao. Marking the first European IP for Alibaba Entertainment Licensing, Molang has more than 150 global licensees including master toy partner Jazwares in North America and TOMY in Europe and Australia. Millimages’ short-form Molang TV series has been sold to more than 220 countries, and is currently in its fourth season. Nintendo in final stages of talks with Illumination to make an animated Super Mario Bros. movie

According to sources, Nintendo is in the final stages of talks with Minions animation studio Illumination to secure a license to create an animated Super Mario Bros. movie. Reportedly, the two companies have been in talks for a year with Nintendo confirming to be involved with the creative process as well as the series' creator Shigeru Miyamoto who in all probability will serve as a producer of the film. Illumination's Mac Guff studio in Paris that has been responsible for the Despicable Me series of films has started development of the film with the release date yet unconfirmed. Nintendo has already been in talks with Sony to produce the film, but Universal's Illumination studio is undoubtedly a more logical fit given that the corporation is already in the process of making a Super M...
