According to sources, Nintendo is in the final stages of talks with Minions animation studio Illumination to secure a license to create an animated Super Mario Bros. movie. Reportedly, the two companies have been in talks for a year with Nintendo confirming to be involved with the creative process as well as the series' creator Shigeru Miyamoto who in all probability will serve as a producer of the film. Independent licensing company Rocket Licensing that manages UK licensing for the Hotel Transylvania franchise on behalf of brand owner Sony Pictures Animation, has announced its expansion plans for the franchises’ licensing campaign as the third film is scheduled for release in Summer 2018 and the first season of Hotel Transylvania: The Series that recently released on The Disney Channel.
