The Shape of Water takes shape at Toronto’s post facility of Deluxe

When it was time for master storyteller Guillermo del Toro del Toro to post The Shape of Water, he and his team came back to Deluxe’s all-inclusive post facility in Toronto where he’d finished many previous projects that included his last features Crimson Peak and multiple-Oscar-winner Pan’s Labyrinth. The Shape of Water was shot by Dan Lassen, with visual effects provided by Mr. X. The feature stars Sally Hawkins, Michael Shannon, Richard Jenkins, Octavia Spencer, Michael Stuhlbarg and Doug Jones. Finally, Apple releases workstation-class iMac Pro

After a long wait, Apple finally released its workstation-class iMac Pro on December 14. Launched at Apple's Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC) in San Jose in June, it'll be the first iMac to feature an Intel Xeon processor now only found in the ageing Mac Pro (and PC workstations such as Dell's Precision, HP's Z-Series and Lenovo's ThinkStation ranges). However, no replacement for the Mac Pro was announced it was reiterated that Apple is working on a traditional desktop workstation to replace the Mac Pro in 2018. Apple's site informs that one will be able to purchase the iMac Pro with a W-series 8-, 10- or 18-core Xeon processor (the current iMacs use Core i5 and Core i7 chips). AT&T and Time Warner extend merger agreement once more

As the companies prepare for the legal battle against the Justice Department’s efforts to block the union, AT&T and Time Warner have extended their $85.4 billion merger agreement once again. In a Securities and Exchange Commission filing last Friday, AT&T said the companies agreed to extend the deadline for completing the deal to June 21. The two had earlier extended the agreement originally set in October 2016 through April 22 in light of the prolonged regulatory review. In November last, the Justice Department had filed a suit in Federal Court to block the merger on anti-trust grounds. Blackmagic’s URSA Mini Pro and DaVinci Resolve Studio were used for popular singer Kana Nishino’s new music video for her song Girls. Nobu Sueyoshi directed and shot the video while colorist and DIT Toru Miura from Spice Inc provided colour correction. Kana Nishino is a Japanese female singer and song writer who has received a number of music awards in Japan. Her latest single, Girls is a song designed to cheer all women up. To capture that feeling, the music video shows Kana Nishino walking down the streets of Tokyo. Coinciding with the Christmas special ‘Doctor Who: Twice Upon a Time, BBC Worldwide Americas has launched a new augmented reality filter for the Facebook Camera Effects platform. The effect invites users around the world to undergo the “regeneration process” for the first time. Fans of Doctor Who can experience the “golden glow” and shape shifting process that allows an alien Time Lord to change into a new body thanks to AR technology. That’s an augmented reality/mixed reality (ar/mr) product called Magic Leap One: Creator Edition. With the launch of Trivial Pursuit Tap, Hasbro has joined Amazon Echo’s growing content lineup. The interactive game uses Echo Buttons, a US$20 standalone offering that combines voice assistant Amazon Alexa with an Echo device and lets gamers use illuminated buttons to compete in web-connected multi-player or single player competitions. Trivial Pursuit Tap uses ‘buzzers’ that lets players compete with friends and answer questions from one of six categories. The buttons will light up and assign different colors for each player. (Up to four buttons can be connected to a compatible Echo device.) Cameras of Blackmagic Design capture Maldonado’s new music video

Global singing sensation Kirstin Maldonado’s new music video was shot using 15 Blackmagic Design cameras, it is reported by Blacmagic. The cameras used to record the video for her new song Naked included a number of URSA Mini 4.6K and URSA Mini Pro digital film cameras besides Micro cinema cameras, pocket cinema cameras and a studio camera 4K that were all shooting simultaneously. Kirstin Maldonado is a Grammy award-winning multi-platinum singer, songwriter and one-fifth of the a cappella group Pentatonix. Her first solo EP, L O V E, that debuted in the summer of 2017, quickly moved up the charts.
