Cheryl Boone Isaacs, the President of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences that hosts the annual Oscars ceremony, will be participating in a keynote interview at FMX 2017.
FMX is Europe’s most influential conference dedicated to Digital Visual Arts, Technologies, and Business.
Her participation in FMX is of great importance since the lady has been instrumental in moving the Academy, as well as the movie industry at large, in the direction of greater inclusion.
Isaacs, who was elected President of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in 2013, is a longtime film marketing and public relations executive with a history of successful publicity campaigns for award-winning film classics.
Cheryl started her career on the Steven Spielberg film Close Encounters of the Third Kind at Columbia Pictures in 1977.
As Executive Vice President of worldwide publicity at Paramount Pictures, two of her notable milestones include orchestrating publicity campaigns for Best Picture winners Forrest Gump and Braveheart.
Currently she heads CBI Enterprises Inc., where she has consulted on marketing efforts on films such as The Artist, The King’s Speech and Precious: Based on the Novel ‘Push’ by Sapphire.
Cheryl will join FMX for a keynote interview with Eric Roth, the Executive Director of the Visual Effects Society. The interview would be part of the “Studio Insights” track that provides a safe forum for executives to share their perspe
ctive on digital entertainment, focusing on production, changing business models and new forms of content creation.
