Discovery Kids will air the second season of its animated original series ‘Little Singham’ on September 13. The season two will be launched on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi later this month, read a statement

‘Little Singham’ was launched in collaboration with Reliance Animation, Rohit Shetty and Discovery Kids. The season 2 will introduce new villains, new adventures and locations clubbed with the festive themes such as Ganpati, Navratri, Dussehra, and Diwali.

Commenting on the new season, Discovery Kids business head Uttam Pal Singh said, “Little Singham’s swag, action, and humor, has won the hearts of Indian Kids and they have been demanding for more since the launch. Season 2, scheduled to be launched on the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi, with the theme of ‘Double Tashan -Double Fun’ promises the kids more entertainment, more action, crazy new villains and great laughter moments with their favorite character – Little Singham.”

Little Singham, inspired by super cop brand and Bollywood blockbuster “Singham”, was launched on April 21, and targets children in the age group of 5-11 years.

Rohit Shetty was quoted as saying, “Little Singham’s success has further reinforced my conviction about the strength of Singham franchise. I knew that Little Singham would be a runaway success even before the IP was officially launched earlier this year – but the scale of it has made me numb. My gratitude to the audiences who continue to shower their blessings on brand Singham. The youngest super-cop Little Singham provides an inspiration to the children to fight against the evil.”

Recently, Little Singham won the Best Property IP Award (Entertainment Licensing Property) at India Licensing Expo (ILE) held in Mumbai.

The IP is said to have helped the channel in propelling its ratings by more than 400% this year. The “Little Singham” mobile game added to the IP’s success by garnering 3 million downloads within the first two weeks of its launch.

The show will air from Monday to Friday at 1:30 pm with a repeat telecast at 5:30 pm.
