The Jungle Book is destroying the competition by trouncing its rival-movies at the domestic and international box offices, following a stellar performance on 70 mm screens; the Movie is heading towards a crowning glory.
According to several reports, the movie is flashing its utter brilliance in the second week, with whooping $60.8 million (Domestically); Jungle Book registered a 41% drop in second week still, nabbing $191.5 million in just 10 days.
Reel-Pundits are claiming, the movie will finish higher than it is estimated in terms of clocking profits.
The Movie is at the helm, posting sheer success both in states and global, in international battle field – the movie has amassed $96 million, making its global income a stupefying total of $528 million.
Markedly, it is the highest grossing Hollywood phenomenon in India with posting over 28 million in profits.
Its main competition for the weekend was Universal’s Huntsman: Winter’s War, the sequel/prequel/reboot to 2012’s Snow White and the Huntsman. Huntsman: Winter’s War was left in the dust on its opening weekend, earning only $20 million.
The film stars Chris Hemsworth, Jessica Chastain, Charlize Theron, and Emily Blunt and was directed by Cedric Nicholas-Troyan. The film has not been received well by critics and currently has a 17% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, which most likely impacted its performance this weekend.
The movie is scoring great reviews, with snatching success from the jaws of critic and chopping the rival films at the theaters.
