French content distributor Federation Kids & Family and its sister concern Cottonwood Media have tied up with UYoung to bring the pre-school brand The Ollie & Moon Show to the Chinese market.
As a matter of fact, UYoung has acquired all SVOD, broadcast and licensing rights for the brand in mainland China.
“We are delighted to take our first foray into China with the best partner possible, and are proud to work with a company that shares our love for great creative work,” says David Michel, president, Cottonwood Media and Federation Kids & Family. “UYoung’s commitment to a broad-based licensing program is key to ‘Ollie & Moon’s’ success, and we are excited to see how it will perform with the Chinese audience, both on TV and in consumer products,” he added.
The popular show that stars two globetrotting cats is based on the bestselling Ollie & Moon books by Emmy Award Winning author and illustrator Diane Kredensor, also author of Pinky and the Brain and Clifford the Big Red Dog.
The series currently airs in more than 160 territories across three continents, including in the U.S. where it recently earned the Common Sense Media Seal.
“Cats are considered lucky mascots in China, so we feel very lucky and delighted to be representing this exciting new property in the region,” observed Clara Yang, vice president of international business, UYoung. “With strong visual humor, we think ‘The Ollie & Moon Show’ has all the ingredients to deliver success in China,” he ended.
