French kids’ entertainment company Millimages has announced that its cuddly rabbit cartoon star is hopping to a new home, as TF1 has picked up the first two seasons of Molang (104 x 3’30”) for its youth programming block TFOU in France.
The producer has also secured pre-financing for a third 52 episode season of the pre-school hit with Canal+.
The series centers on best friend Molang the eccentric rabbit and PiuPiu the shy little chick as they tackle everyday adventures with warmth and humor.
The one of a kind friendship between joyful, enthusiastic Molang and discreet, emotional PiuPiu drives the stories which have charmed audiences around the globe.
Molang has been sold to broadcaster in over 200 countries, and just recently saw the launch of its toy line from master toy licensee TOMY in Europe and Australia. The line is set to hit the US market in Q1 of 2018 via Jazwares.
TFOU, aimed at kids between 4 to10, broadcasts more than 750 hours of programming a year. It finished last year with an excellent average viewing share of 25 per cent with its target demographic, it is said.
