Funko acquires U.K.-based animation studio for apprx. $ 4 million


Toy maker Funko has acquired the U.K.-based animation production studio A Large Evil Corporation for a cost of approximately $4 million.

Since 2014, the two companies had been working together on animation projects including a series of Marvel-themed CG animated shorts that came in last year.


Founded in 2006, Evil Corp will now operate under the name Funko Animation Studios. Studio founder Guy Thomson and Seth Watkins will officiate as general managers.
