A number of Nickelodeon stores are to open internationally, beginning with a flagship outlet in London’s Leicester Square.
Nickelodeon Viacom Consumer Products has teamed with Entertainment Retail Enterprises for the venture, with the first store opening in the second quarter of 2015.
The new multi-level store will include state of the art multimedia and interactive elements to create a showcase for a broad range of products based on Nickelodeon properties.
In addition, the store will also showcase products from a select group of global licensees.
To date, Entertainment Retail Enterprises and Nickelodeon have launched two Nickelodeon stores in Panama and Riyadh, with another opening in Jeddah by the end of the year.
“Leicester Square is one of the best known tourism destinations in one of the greatest cities in the world and is an absolutely ideal location for an iconic brand like Nickelodeon,” said Ron Johnson, EVP of NVCP. “I am really excited that London is joining our growing roster of international retail destinations, helping to drive growth in the branded retail space for the Nickelodeon brand internationally in partnership with ERE.”
