Universal Parks and Resorts and Nintendo are joining hands to add life to the Super Mario and other video game characters to theme park and company resort.
The Nintendo-themed areas will launch at Universal Studios Japan, Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood, and each interactive environment will include multiple attractions, shops and restaurants.
Nintendo has a full stable of characters it can pull from, such as the elflike warrior Link. Details on what other characters might be used will be announced at a later date, it said.
The creative visionaries behind Nintendo’s legendary worlds and characters are working together with the creative teams behind Universal’s blockbuster theme park attractions. Their goal is to bring the characters, action and adventure of Nintendo video games to life within Universal theme parks.
Furthermore, each Universal theme park will announce details of its specific Nintendo areas. The first announcement will come soon.
