Adult Swim is on its way to Austin, Texas to premiere two episodes of its upcoming series Apollo Gauntlet at the Rooster Teeth Animation Festival. Set for screening from July 6 to 9 at the Austin Convention Center, Adult Swim will screen more than an hour of sneak peeks of the new animation series during a special screening entitled Adult Swim Presents followed by a Q&A with the creators of Apollo Gauntlet and Squidbillies. Now in its second year, Rooster Teeth Animation Festival holds panel discussions, exclusive screenings from animators including Frederator, Cyanide and Happiness (Explosm Entertainment), Mondo Media, Mashed, and more, as well as an exclusive theatrical screening of the Netflix Original series Castlevania.

The quirky mystery comedy series Mike Tyson Mysteries will be making a bow on Adult Swim on May 14 for a third run. It has a cast of strangely hilarious characters such as Mike Tyson himself, his adopted Korean daughter Yung Hee, the well-groomed and wine-loving ghost Marquess and Pigeonm, a filthy man trapped inside a filthy bird’s body. The 3rd season of Mike Tyson Mysteries finds Mike Tyson and his Mystery Team in search of a place to crash after the incident that left their old house burning. The season will also introduce Mike’s estranged brother who is a complete nerd unlike his athletic brother. Adult Swim, which continues to dominate the ratings and remains the #1 in basic cable with millennials for more than a decade has announced two action-packed new animated series that will premiere later this year. The first named Apollo Gauntlet will be out this summer followed by Hot Streets in the fall. These two new series continue the network’s commitment to produce new and innovative programming for its fans. Both the series have been produced by two studios namely Stoopid Buddy Stoodios (Hot Streets). Icidentally, it’s the same team behind Robot Chicken. Samurai Jack’s fifth season will premiere on Adult Swim on March 11, the network confirmed. During a promotional bump for Adult Swim, a fan asked what was going on with the show. In response, the network responded with the date and air time — March 11 at 11:30 p.m. ET. Samurai Jack originally ran for four seasons on Cartoon Network from 2001 to 2004, and chronicled the tale of a time-displaced samurai prince’s battle against demonic, shape-shifting warlord Aku. Unfortunately, the series ended without providing fans with closure — and with Jack still stuck in the future. Michael Ouweleen promoted to CMO of Cartoon Network

Michael Ouweleen is taking the top marketing spot at Turner Broadcasting’s Cartoon Network as Chief Marketing Officer of the animation station, as well as its Adult Swim and Boomerang brands. Based in Atlanta, Ouweleen will report directly to new president and GM Christina Miller. As CMO, he will provide the overall creative direction and strategy for all areas of marketing, on-air, trade and sponsorship partnerships that support the three broadcast brands, including digital, gaming, ad sales and consumer products. Cartoon Network taps Christina Miller as new President and GM

Turner Broadcasting has named Christina Miller as its new president and general manager of Cartoon Network, Adult Swim and Boomerang. Miller will head up the three networks, along with their digital brand extensions. She replaces Stuart Snyder, Turner’s former president and COO of Animation, Young Adults & Kids Media, who exited the company at the end of March.
