Samurai Jack to show in US theatres for a one-night event on October 16

Adult Swim and Fathom Events are preparing themselves to bring Samurai Jack to the theaters in the U.S. for an exclusive one-night event. The screening set to take place on October 16 will present the fully-remastered premiere movie from the first season. In addition to a high-definition restoration of these early episodes, the screening will include a video commentary by creator Genndy Tartakovsky on the beginning of Samurai Jack and what the show means to him. Ticket sales will start in mid-September.

Adult Swim is on its way to Austin, Texas to premiere two episodes of its upcoming series Apollo Gauntlet at the Rooster Teeth Animation Festival. Set for screening from July 6 to 9 at the Austin Convention Center, Adult Swim will screen more than an hour of sneak peeks of the new animation series during a special screening entitled Adult Swim Presents followed by a Q&A with the creators of Apollo Gauntlet and Squidbillies. The first named Apollo Gauntlet will be out this summer followed by Hot Streets in the fall. Samurai Jack’s fifth season will premiere on Adult Swim on March 11, the network confirmed. During a promotional bump for Adult Swim, a fan asked what was going on with the show. In response, the network responded with the date and air time — March 11 at 11:30 p.m. ET. Samurai Jack originally ran for four seasons on Cartoon Network from 2001 to 2004, and chronicled the tale of a time-displaced samurai prince’s battle against demonic, shape-shifting warlord Aku.
