Retro gaming brand, My Arcade has secured the rights of release of a new range of table-top arcade machines and handhelds based on Bandai Namco’s heritage titles.The initial line-up will feature gaming’s first icon Pac-Man among other classics such as Galaga and Dig Dug. The Micro Player arcades will feature artwork inspired by the original cabinets, large full-coloured screens, backlit coin traps plus a removable joystick for those who prefer to use a directional pad to play. Toei Animation has partnered with Japanese video game developer and publisher Bandai Namco on a number of new games inspired by its animated series One Piece. The adventure show follows a pirate named Luffy as he searches for legendary treasure with his friends. On its part, Bandai Namco has decided to launch two new games inspired by the series this year. The first one titled Grand Cruise is a virtual reality experience that enables players to discover what it’s like to be the pirate crew’s newest recruit. The game will be released exclusively on PlayStation 4. The second title World Seeker is an action/adventure game that puts players in Luffy’s shoes. Just last week the new My Hero Academia game dubbed One’s Justice was announced for the Playstation 4 and Nintendo Switch, but go to see the game is already far along enough that Bandai Namco was able to share a bunch of new screenshots, coinciding with the official website going live. One’s Justice is an action game that will have players batting it out using their Quirks across gorgeous cel-shaded environments that mimic the look of the anime it was based on. It is also said that the stages will have destructible environments that offer their own in-game advantages. No details have been provided though regarding the roster, but protagonist Izuku Midoriya and villain Tomura Shigaraki feature prominently in the screenshots which should prove that at least one of them is playable. &n
Soon, Bandai Namco will be hosting a live stream that will have a key announcement about the Super Robot Wars franchise on December 11. Though no details have been provided yet, it is bound to be something that will appease the millions of Super Robot Wars fans all over the globe. For the yet unknown, the Super Robot Wars franchise is a long-running video game franchise that features representatives from various mechanical anime properties such as Gundam, Voltes V, Mazinger Z, Macross, UFO Grendaizer among many. All are locked in a massive turn-based JRPG crossover. While technically not canonical to each series’ respective continuities, the stories still have depth and go far beyond mere fan service.
There’s still time for the release of Bandai Namco’s video game adaptation of the popular magical girls/witch-themed anime Little Witch Academia but it doesn’t mean we won’t appreciate a new official trailer. Due to be out for the PS4 under the title of Little Witch Academia: Chamber of Time on November 30, the game is a 2.5D cel-shaded Beat ‘Em Up that will give players a chance to play as fledgling witch Akko and the other main character through an original story made for the game. Sweeping the awards was the Nintendo Switch title Super Mario Odyssey which lapped up the coveted Best of Gamescom Award, the consumer-voted Most Wanted Award and three of the juried categories. By way of an exclusive option agreement with Bandai Namco, the classic game Galaga will finally get an origin story with a new animated series from Swedish and Los Angeles-based producer The Nuttery Entertainment. This announcement was made at the recently held San Diego Comic-Con. The tooned up brand extension titled Galaga Chronicles will cover an animated series as well as licensing & merchandising program. Bandai Namco has announced its next main entry in the cult favourite SRPG series Super Robot Wars namely Super Robot Wars V. The announcement was made during a live NicoNico stream, where it was announced that the game will be coming to the Playstation 4 and PS Vita sometime in 2017. Those interested in the game and unable to read Japanese need not have to worry because like many recent Bandai Namco games, Super Robot Wars V will have an Asian release with English subtitles which should be viable because PS4s don’t have region-locking for the games. It’s been known for sometime that the third DLC pack for the 3D anime fighting game Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 would be coming out in April. But so far the exact release date has not been declared. A recent livestream from Bandai Namco has finally unveiled the date: April 25. So, now owners of the game can prepare a few hundred megabytes of space on their consoles/PCs in preparation for the download. The DLC pack contains the DB Super Pack 3 comes with 3 new parallel quests, 5 additional skills, 4 additional costumes, 5 super souls, 2 emotes, and what every one really wanted: 3 additional characters namely Goku Black Rose, Zamasu and Bojack who will also be a Master and will unlock new skills, chats, marks, and nicknames.
