9 Story Media Group acquires Breakthrough Entertainment’s kids slate

9 Story Media Group announced that it has entered into an agreement to acquire Breakthrough Entertainment’s kids and family library and development slate. Under the terms of the agreement, 9 Story will acquire 757 half hours of animated and live action kids and family content, bringing 9 Story’s total distribution library to more than 3,500 half hours. The transaction is expected to close within the next 30 days. However, no financial terms were disclosed yet. 9 Story will also take over Breakthrough’s kids and family development slate and have the right to produce future seasons of these properties. TVO gives go ahead signal to factual series Science Max: Experiments at Large

Canadian pubcaster TVO has given a go ahead signal  to kids factual series Science Max: Experiments at Large. The order follows the news that the show is up for a 2018 CSA award in the Best Children’s or Youth Non-Fiction Series category. The show, which won a pair of Canadian Screen Awards last year for Best Children’s or Youth Non-Fiction Series and Best Cross-Platform Project – Children’s and Youth will return to TVO this fall. Arizona-based kids and family SVOD, Kidstream has been launched on Amazon Channels. The service that launched on Comcast’s Xfinity on demand platform earlier this year is now available to subscribers of Amazon Prime for US$4.99 per month. Ad-free Kidstream can be accessed online and on mobile devices for subscribers at the Amazon channels site.  Kidstream plans to add more fare aimed at two- to nine-year-olds to its library on a monthly basis. The SVOD owned by Brandvida features more than 100 hours of series from studios like Canada’s Breakthrough Entertainment and France’s Millimages and awol animation.
