After Ink Group entered into a deal with distribution company Cine Majestic, Animaccord's 3D family show Masha and the Bear is set to hit cinema screens across Turkey soon. “Masha and the Bear is simply huge and this popularity just keeps on growing,” says Ink Group Managing Partner Claus Tømming. “It’s a universal story that appeals to kids in any country and culture and works across all formats,” he adds. Brand new episodes of Masha and the Bear Season 3 began showing at over 100 cinemas throughout Turkey from 21st April with over 125,000 tickets sold for the opening weekend alone. Screenings will continue for several weeks, it is said. This adds to the huge buzz that surrounds what is one of world’s biggest kids’ brands and which screens on TV in nearly every country in the world.

One Animation’s Oddbods debuts on Netflix

One Animation’s animated TV series Oddbobs has been released on Netflix in North America, Latin America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Australia and New Zealand. The long-form toon follows seven colorful characters as they play pranks on one another. The SVOD deal comes after a one and five-minute shorts of Oddbods garnered nearly two billion views across social media. The series’ long-form version was sold last year to broadcasters including Boomerang, Disney channels in Asia, Canal Plus in France and Africa, ITV in the UK and Boing in Italy. This past fall, ITV also signed on licensees for Oddbods with help from UK master toy partner Golden Bear. The show’s second season will also be streamed on Netflix later this summer.

Jetpack Distribution Enters Production on ‘The Sisters’

French Commissioning Broadcasters Secured Global distributor, Jetpack Distribution, has secured a commissioning deal with French broadcasters M6 and Canal Plus for The Sisters, a brand new 52 x 11 minute series for 6-10 year olds. Based on the best-selling comic book series by Cazenove and William, the 2D animated series will be co-produced by Samka Productions and Bamboo Productions with Jetpack handling worldwide distribution of the animated comedy.
