DQ Entertainment appoints number of licensing agents for The Jungle Book

DQ Entertainment (DQE), the India-based production and distribution group of repute has appointed a number of new licensing agents for its series The Jungle Book. The Licensing Group (LTG) will exclusively represent licensing and merchandising for the brand in North America. Among the licensees are: CPL, CIMCA, KKTC, Viacom India The fist named will represent the property’s merchandise licensing rights in Latin America and Mexico. Televisa (Mexico) and Globosat (Latin America) are already the broadcast partners for the series in the region. CIMCA will represent the brand for all merchandising and licensing categories in Central America. Additionally, Sinecast Events Turkey has signed on to represent The Jungle Book—along with additional DQE properties Peter Pan and Robin Hood—in Tu

Disney XD acquires US broadcast rights of DQE’s The Jungle Book

Disney XD has acquired the U.S. broadcast rights of DQ Entertainment (DQE)’s 3D animated series The Jungle Book. The around half an hour series will debut June 11 on the channel. It has more than 78 million households as subscribers. Based on the stories by English author Rudyard Kipling, The Jungle Book series, aimed at children between 6 to 9, follows man-cub Mowgli, Baloo, Bagheera and Kaa as they take on the evil Shere Khan. Earlier Disney adapted Kipling’s material into a 1967 animated feature. Planeta Junior to showcase two animated series at MIPTV market

Planeta Junior, the European children’s and youth entertainment company will be showcasing two of its fresh animated series meant for young viewers at next week’s MIPTV market. They are Magiki and Pio Rocks!  Magiki is a new animated series based on the DeAgostini collectibles which have sold over 17 million units in Europe. The show follows the adventures of inquisitive, adorable Billie, who uses her magic key to escape from her sisters’ tiring problems into an enchanted world accessible through her toy box: Magiki. With her best friend Truman by her side, Billie is transformed into a modern princess in Magiki, with her toys as her royal court. Magiki is produced by Planeta Junior, Zodiak Kids Studios (France), Albachiara and DeAgostini Editore. DQ Entertainment sees a drop in Revenue in 3rd Quarter

Christmas and New Year holidays resulted in invoicing delays and hence lower revenue for the Tapas Chakravarti-led DQ Entertainment (International) Ltd, (DQE). The company says that though deliveries for some products had been completed before December 31, 2013, approvals from its customers were delayed on account of the holidays, hence invoices have been raised in the fourth quarter.  (more…)
