Toys ‘R’ Us & Walmart reveals holiday season plans

The sight of snow is still a couple months away, but Toys ‘R’ Us and Walmart are already prepping US shoppers for the holiday season. This year, the company foresees licensed  products from Disney’s Frozen, and Nick’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Paw Patrol as the ones to watch. Paramount Animation Names DiSalvo Creative Director

Paramount Animation has named veteran animator Lino DiSalvo as its new creative director. The announcement was made by Adam Goodman, president of the Paramount Film Group, which oversees animation for the studio. DiSalvo moves to Paramount following a 16-year stint at Walt Disney Animation Studios, where he most recently served as head of animation on the Oscar-winning film, Frozen. Box Office Report: Disney’s ‘Frozen’ Crosses $800 Million

Disney blockbuster Frozen continues to make headlines in its tenth week at the box office as it crosses the $800 million mark globally; animated family comedy The Nut Job nabs third place with $12.3 million. In a double victory for Universal, holdovers Ride Along and Lone Survivor remained at the top of the box office chart this past weekend. Starring Kevin Hart and Ice Cube, Ride Along made $21.2 million over its sophomore weekend for a total of $75.4 million and a first-place finish, while Peter Berg’s Afghanistan war drama, Lone Survivor -- now in its fifth week out -- made $12.6 million for a total of $93.6 million.
