Two of the world’s most famous felines are set to join forces for the first time as part of a new comic book series. Grumpy Cat and Garfield will star in an original story following a deal with Dynamite Entertainment and BOOM! Studios' KaBOOM, which will be written by Garfield creator, Jim Davis. Turner’s second flagship kids’ brand increases its regional footprint Boomerang, the global kids’ brand and companion channel to Cartoon Network, has launched in Malaysia on HyppTV with a two-month free preview available from August 1, 2015. Boomerang is an all-animation network with a line-up of household names and contemporary cartoons programmed for both kids and their families. The channel offers exclusive, first-run content including new episodes of timeless favourites such as Tom and Jerry, Looney Tunes and Scooby-Doo, as well as premium acquisitions including Garfield, Pink Panther, Strawberry Shortcake, My Little Pony, Mr. Bean, Inspector Gadget, DreamWorks’ Turbo FAST and DreamWorks’ two Dragons series. Garfield Gets More Apparel Partners

Paws, Inc. has signed a range of new apparel licensees in the U.S., Brazil, Australia, Canada, the Middle East and France for Garfield. The Classics and Fright Rags have joined the character's apparel program in the U.S. with Classics focusing on tops and bottoms and Fright Rags featuring a horror-inspired version of the feisty feline. The two new additions join ODM, which has a line of men’s and boys’ tees currently at Walmart, and Paws, Inc. is looking to add more apparel partners to the U.S. roster. (more…)

Bulldog, Garfield Seals Three Licensing Deals

Bulldog Licensing has brought three new licensees on board for cartoon cat Garfield, with The Classic, Fright Rags and Open Roads all signing deals. The new deals will see The Classic producing women’s apparel including tops, bottoms, hats, outerwear, scarves, socks and bags. Open Roads has signed up for wall art, containers, trays, book boxes, tin and wood boxes, novelty magnets, door mats and decals and Fright Rags is set to release a line of T-Shirts next year to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the “Garfield’s Halloween Adventure “TV special.
