The Pokémon Company International has signed a major new partnership with SUPER RTL, Germany’s leading children’s channel. SUPER RTL has acquired multiple seasons and movies from Pokémon’s programming portfolio based on the globally popular entertainment franchise. Pokémon animation will launch on the channel in December; significantly increasing the reach and availability of Pokémon animation in Germany. In addition, deals have also been concluded with Pop Italy; CMORE for the Nordics; Neox and Atresplayer in Spain; and with RTL7 BOZ and related SVOD, Videoland, in the Netherlands. These latest deals round off a busy year that has seen Pokémon animated content find several new homes throughout Europe since January. These are among the slate of new and coming back series the company is shopping at the MIPTV market. From its kids’ brand Cartoon Network, two 2016 revival series are generating quite a lot of interest from international buyers. They are The Powerpuff Girls and Ben 10. With more than 85,000 visitors and 2.500 professionals each year, the Stuttgart Festival of Animated Film (ITFS, May 5-10, 2015) is one of the biggest and most important animation festivals worldwide. Since 2011, the ITFS presents the Animated Com Award, with prizes for applied animation in the categories of advertising, spatial communication and technology. The jury has chosen 50 high class films, from 141 submitted international productions, for this year's shortlist of the Animated Com Award. Ten of them were nominated for the three prize categories.
