As a result, Legend will be establishing a new operation to offer services in support of 3D conversion and VFX projects in the heart of China’s rapidly growing entertainment technology sector,Luoyang City in the province of Henan. The scheduled opening date of its newest facility is Spring 2018. With the opening of a studio in Pune, Legend 3D, the U.S.-based 3D conversion and visual effects studio has taken a major leap into Asia. The facility is a 40,000-square-foot building based in a 10-acre Suzlon “One Earth” campus. It will be connected to Legend 3D facilities in Los Angeles and Toronto by secure digital pipeline to provide protected interconnected workflow. The building has LEED Platinum and GRIHA 5 star certification while the campus has energy controls and building management systems for minimal environmental impact. The studio which has recently worked on films like Passengers, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales and Spider-Man: Homecoming expects to employ 500 workmen at its India plant by the end of this year, This would represent 25% of its projecte

The government of Ontario has established a new partnership with global visual effects company Legend 3D to help grow its Toronto studio by creating 271 new jobs. Since it was founded in 2001, Legend 3D has worked on visual effects for such blockbuster movies as Walt Disney Studios’ Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales (2017), Marvel Studios’ Doctor Strange (2016) and Warner Brothers’ Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (2016) among other films. The company also works on effects for television and digital media such as virtual reality. With the Ontario government’s Jobs and Prosperity Fund, Legend 3D will receive up to $3.1 million to hire and train the incoming 271 employees, adding to its current 280 people workforce in Toronto.
