Nickelodeon is going to launch a brand-new 40-episode animated series named Sunny Day on August 21. The bubbly show from Silvergate Media promises to have pre-schoolers smiling and styling along with 10-year-old hairstyling maven Sunny who uses creative problem-solving skills to tackle any dilemma that arises in her seaside town. The characters of Sunny Day celebrate individuality and self-expression, while the show highlights leadership, innovative thinking and teamwork. Sunny, voiced by Lilla Crawford, is a confident and creative natural leader who runs her own hair salon in the town of Friendly Falls. Welcome to the Wayne is Nickelodeon’s first series to move from digital to broadcast

The animated series Welcome to the Wayne that recently released on Nickelodeon has  become the network’s first original series to move from digital to broadcast. It had originally launched in 2014 as a series of shorts on Nick App and Nick.com. Created by Billy Lopez, the show centers on two 10-year-old boys living in a Manhattan high-rise dubbed The Wayne where they are involved in all manner of wild adventures. The show’s sound team led by supervising sound editor Bobb Barito, re-recording mixer Matt Longoria and the Foley team from Alchemy Post Sound, have a lot to do with bringing the fantastically crazy world inhabited by the boys to life. In anticipation of the toon’s August premiere on Nickelodeon in the US and on YTV in Canada, Corus Entertainment’s Nelvana is bringing its original animated action series Mysticons online. The series’ online push is part of a larger social and digital media content strategy involving more than 80 pieces of original short-form content. For example, live-action content and DIY videos for character costumes will be made available throughout the show’s first season. An adventure role-playing app-based game will also bow this fall, along with a number of web games. Nickelodeon has launched SpongeBob SquarePants: You Bring The Color, a creative new cross-platform campaign where kids can help color all-new SpongeBob episodes. This follows today’s young fans continuing to demand more interactive, hands-on experiences with their favourite brands. Nickelodeon is in plans for a whirlwind tour through must-visit classic cartoon locales before reaching Comic-Con International at San Diego 2017. With a new stop-motion special SpongeBob SquarePants: The Legend of Boo-Kini Bottom, Nickelodeon is getting its longest-running kids series into the Halloween spirit. Due to start telecasting in October, the special follows the Flying Dutchman (voiced by Brian Doyle Murrary), who is trying to scare everyone in town, especially SpongeBob. It is produced by L.A.-based stop-motion animation production company, Screen Novelties, which animated 2012′s SpongeBob SquarePants: It’s a SpongeBob Christmas!  The news comes as SpongeBob gears up for a third movie from Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon Movies, as well as its 12th season on air. The show’s 11th season will premiere this summer.
