The people behind Inazuma Eleven, Little Battlers eXperience and Yo-Kai Watch are back with an all-new series, the CG-animated The Snack World. The series that is produced by OLM Animation is set to debut in the international market in the fall of 2018 as a 50 episode 22-minute series. The show is represented by Level5-abby in most markets and by Bomanbridge Media in Asia, excluding Japan. The series debuted in Japan on TV Tokyo last April 2017 and was preceded by a manga series in CoroCoro Comic. A Nintendo 3DS game linked to the series launched in the country in August. It ties in with Takara Tomy’s line of Snack World collectible products.
According to sources, Nintendo is in the final stages of talks with Minions animation studio Illumination to secure a license to create an animated Super Mario Bros. movie. Reportedly, the two companies have been in talks for a year with Nintendo confirming to be involved with the creative process as well as the series' creator Shigeru Miyamoto who in all probability will serve as a producer of the film. Illumination's Mac Guff studio in Paris that has been responsible for the Despicable Me series of films has started development of the film with the release date yet unconfirmed. In its zest to boost its experiential marketing presence, Nintendo will soon launch 17 pop-up experiences in malls across the US from November 11 to December 17. The shops come as the Nintendo Switch continues to drive stellar sales for the gaming giant. From Massachusetts to California, the cross-country Nintendo Holiday Experience will let consumers try out Nintendo Switch and Nintendo 3DS systems, as well as play popular games like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Super Mario Odyssey. Last month, fans of the Yo-Kai Watch franchise were given a treat when Yo-Kai Watch Busters 2 was confirmed for the Nintendo 3DS. But, unfortunately, no actual release dates were disclosed outside of the vague winter schedule. That changed recently, when the release window was narrowed down to December 7 in Japan. Nintendo releases a live-action Super Mario Run trailer, showcasing the spirit of the game. Super Mario Run sees Mario run forward on his own, tasking players with tapping their finger to jump over obstacles, avoid enemies, pull off moves, collect coins, and reach the flagpole to complete courses. Universal Parks and Resorts and Nintendo are joining hands to add life to the Super Mario and other video game characters to theme park and company resort. The Nintendo-themed areas will launch at Universal Studios Japan, Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood, and each interactive environment will include multiple attractions, shops and restaurants. Mario Pikachu Merchandise will be available exclusively in Japan from 29th October In a new crossover between Mario and Pokémon, The Pokémon Company has announced a new line of merchandise called Mario Pikachu for release at the end of this month. The merchandise includes Pikachu Mario and Luigi plushies (shown above), Mario and Luigi themed card games, a game card case and a New 3DS LL cover. In addition, there are also playing cards, keyrings, notebooks, folders and t-shirts. The Mario Pikachu line of Merchandise will only be available from October 29 in Japan’s Pokemon Centre stores with more items to be revealed at the Kyoto store.
