Under the deal, Fathom Events will bring the new animated film to cinemas around the globe. The movie follows Ash and Pikachu as they team up to rescue a seaside town from a series of threats. Marking the anniversary of the launch of the first two Pokémon video games in Japan back in 1996, Pokémon Day will see fun start at Pokemon.com, where an updated gallery of fans' Pokémon will be displayed using the hashtag #PokemonDay. "Pikachu is ready to lead the Pokémon Day celebration in Pokémon GO. From February 26 at 1pm PST to March 6 at 1pm PST (9pm UK time), any Pikachu you encounter in the wild will be wearing a festive party hat!" reads a Pokemon Company statement. "The Pikachu you catch during that time will keep its party hat forever, so be sure to look for this special Pikachu during its short time in the wild." Mario Pikachu Merchandise will be available exclusively in Japan from 29th October In a new crossover between Mario and Pokémon, The Pokémon Company has announced a new line of merchandise called Mario Pikachu for release at the end of this month. The merchandise includes Pikachu Mario and Luigi plushies (shown above), Mario and Luigi themed card games, a game card case and a New 3DS LL cover. In addition, there are also playing cards, keyrings, notebooks, folders and t-shirts. The Mario Pikachu line of Merchandise will only be available from October 29 in Japan’s Pokemon Centre stores with more items to be revealed at the Kyoto store.
