The Pokémon Company International has signed a major new partnership with SUPER RTL, Germany’s leading children’s channel. SUPER RTL has acquired multiple seasons and movies from Pokémon’s programming portfolio based on the globally popular entertainment franchise.  Pokémon animation will launch on the channel in December; significantly increasing the reach and availability of Pokémon animation in Germany. In addition, deals have also been concluded with Pop Italy; CMORE for the Nordics; Neox and Atresplayer in Spain; and with RTL7 BOZ and related SVOD, Videoland, in the Netherlands. These latest deals round off a busy year that has seen Pokémon animated content find several new homes throughout Europe since January. Popular toon Peppa Pig will join the festive celebratory season this coming December 22 at 12:30 PM on Nick Jr., with a funny and christmas-y holiday special peppasode titled Father Christmas. The Father Christmas special will feature the titular young pig, her brother George, Daddy, and Mummy Pig along with all of her animal friends as they go on yet another hilarious, playful adventure. This time, the difference is that they are preparing to put on a big Christmas show for all the parents, only to be surprised by a special visit from Father Christmas himself. Besides the main Father Christmas yarn, the Peppa Pig holiday episode will also include the christmas-themed yarns Santa’s Grotto, Santa’s Visit, Mr. Potato;s Christmas Show and Snow. Super RTL acquires Peppa Pig to show it in Germany

Germany-based free-to-air broadcaster Super RTL has acquired  eOne’s Peppa Pig. As part of the deal, Brand new episodes of the seventh season of the  pre-school series that have never aired in Germany will be available in March. The new broadcast deals come at a time when eOne is focusing its efforts on growing Peppa Pig location-based attractions through a multi-territory partnership with Merlin Entertainments and expanding Peppa Pig World at Paulton’s theme park in the UK with new rides. The broadcaster’s licensing division has also been tapped to rep  Peppa Pig in Germany, with a focus on finding new partners.
