TBS halts production of The Cops

American basic cable and satellite television channel, TBS has put a halt to the production of The Cops, a new animated series co-created by Louis C.K. and Albert Brooks. The move comes on the heels of the comic admitting the sexual misconduct allegations against him. In a statement TBS said, “Production on The Cops has been suspended until further review.” The cable network had given gave a 10-episode straight-to-series order to the project in January for a 2018 premiere. The animated series centered on Al and Lou, two Los Angeles patrol men trying their best to protect and serve, sometimes failing at both. The toon’s logline reads “Ride with them as they patrol one of the biggest cities in the world, then go home with them and be glad you’re not married to either.” TBS didn’t say

TBS orders 13 episodes of new series Close Enough

As part of TBS’ expansion of its original animation slate, the Turner-affiliated network has ordered 13 episodes of a new series titled Close Enough. The story concerns a married couple that attempts to juggle the challenges of parenthood, friendships, ham theft, stripper clowns, and basically every odd thing that happens to people as they transition from being 20-somethings to 30-somethings. This is notable because it is being created by Regular Show creator J.G. Quintel. People at Turner International are overjoyed with the brisk sales of its important shows from its portfolio that includes animated series aimed at both kids and adults. These  are among the slate of new and coming  back series the company is shopping at the MIPTV market. From its kids’ brand Cartoon Network, two 2016 revival series are generating quite a lot of interest from international buyers. They are The Powerpuff Girls and Ben 10. Both the shows have so far been sold to Citv (UK), Gulli (France) and Stan (Australia). Besides, Powerpuff Girls has been acquired by c for Germany, Switerzland and Austria and TV 5 for the Philippines, while Ben 10 will air in the Philippines via GMA.
