Cartoon Network, Asia Pacific’s leading kids’ TV brand, has announced that four Australian-made animation projects will be part of its regional programming line-up in 2016. Sitting alongside Cartoon Network Originals from its bricks-and-mortar studio in Burbank, California, such as We Bare Bears, The Powerpuff Girls, Adventure Time and Ben 10, will be a number of Australian-grown comedies from creators hailing from around the country. Turner’s second flagship kids’ brand increases its regional footprint Boomerang, the global kids’ brand and companion channel to Cartoon Network, has launched in Malaysia on HyppTV with a two-month free preview available from August 1, 2015. Boomerang is an all-animation network with a line-up of household names and contemporary cartoons programmed for both kids and their families. The channel offers exclusive, first-run content including new episodes of timeless favourites such as Tom and Jerry, Looney Tunes and Scooby-Doo, as well as premium acquisitions including Garfield, Pink Panther, Strawberry Shortcake, My Little Pony, Mr. Bean, Inspector Gadget, DreamWorks’ Turbo FAST and DreamWorks’ two Dragons series. Turner brings a taste of POGO to Thailand

Daily branded-block is brand’s first extension beyond India Turner Broadcasting System Asia Pacific has partnered with Thai free-to-air broadcaster Channel 3 to host a daily two-hour programming block of POGO-branded content from March 30. The block offers a mix of animated and live-action original content from POGO, one of the most popular kids’ channels in India that Turner launched in 2004. The block will air in Thai on the Family Channel 13 from 4-6pm on weekdays and 7-9am on weekends. Its programming includes first-run and exclusive content with live-action shows such as M.A.D. (which stands for Music, Art and Dance) and F.A.Q. (a science show for inquisitive youngsters), and Chhota Bheem, one of India's biggest ever animated homegrown franchises.  (more…)

Turner appointed licensing agent for Mr Bean in Asia

HONG KONG INTERNATIONAL LICENSING SHOW - Tiger Aspect Productions (an Endemol Shine Company) has appointed Turner Broadcasting System Asia Pacific as its exclusive licensing agent in Asia for Mr Bean, effective immediately. Turner Asia Pacific’s dedicated licensing division – Cartoon Network Enterprises – is tasked with driving licensing activity for Mr Bean for the next three years and will represent the brand in key markets in Southeast Asia, as well as India.  (more…)
