The wait for our dear detective pup Scooby has got a little longer with Warner Bros. recently announcing that the release date for the Scooby-Doo’s animated movie has been pushed back from 2018 to 2020. Hence, Scooby-Doo fans will have a wait for a few more years to witness the mystery solving detectives on the big screen again! The film is being directed by Emmy-nominated, animation veteran Tony Cervone of Space Jam fame. He will be joined by Dax Shepard, who is currently helming and writing the studio’s upcoming comedy CHiPs. The movie was announced way back in 2015 and was slated for a 21 September, 2018 release. The Australian Toy Association gave away awards to its 2017 Product of the Year award winners at this week’s Australian Toy Fair being held in Melbourne from March 5 to 8. The Association handed out 19 awards including the coveted Toy of the Year prize that was taken away by collectible LOL Surprise Tots Dolls by Headstart International. As a matter of fact, Headstart picked up most of the awards of the night with four trophies. Shopkins maker Moose Toys took away two awards including collectible range of the Year for its Cutie Cars Shopkins and Craft & Activity Toy of the Year with the Oonies Starter Pack. Warner Bros latest animated flick Batman: the Killing Joke has secured an R-rating; this unprecedented event has hardly taken anyone by surprise given the fact that much prior to the release of the film, Warner Bros had apprised the audiences about it.  “The Killing Joke marks the first film in the DC Universe Original Movie franchise to receive an R rating, and the second Batman movie to do so,” Entertainment Weekly said. Turner Globalizes Kids’ Content Strategy

New approach will see the studio's international and U.S. divisions work more closely. Turner International is forging a new joint approach with its U.S. operation for the kids' and general entertainment businesses, as the company adopts a more global approach to content strategy. The strengthened relationship comes as Turner doubles its investment in programming and content. Other recent initiatives in the company's evolving kids' offering include the re-positioning of the Boomerang network over the last year as a second international, all-animation, family-skewed kids’ channel alongside Cartoon Network; the implementation of a global programming deal for Boomerang with Warner Bros.; and an expanded GE footprint with the launch of TNT into new markets.
