Turner Globalizes Kids’ Content Strategy

New approach will see the studio's international and U.S. divisions work more closely. Turner International is forging a new joint approach with its U.S. operation for the kids' and general entertainment businesses, as the company adopts a more global approach to content strategy. The strengthened relationship comes as Turner doubles its investment in programming and content. Other recent initiatives in the company's evolving kids' offering include the re-positioning of the Boomerang network over the last year as a second international, all-animation, family-skewed kids’ channel alongside Cartoon Network; the implementation of a global programming deal for Boomerang with Warner Bros.; and an expanded GE footprint with the launch of TNT into new markets. CG-animated sequel written and directed by Dean DeBlois bests Disney’s ‘Big Hero 6,’ Reel FX’s ‘Book of Life,’ LAIKA’s ‘The Boxtrolls’ and Warner Bros.’ ‘The LEGO Movie.’ On Sunday night, DreamWorks Animation’s How to Train Your Dragon 2 won the Golden Globe Award for Best Animated Feature. Disney’s ‘Frozen,’ Warner Bros.’ ‘Gravity’ and Paramount’s ‘The Wolf of Wall Street’ top the list of most pirated films in 2014. Disney’s Frozen, Warner Bros.’ Gravity and Paramount’s The Wolf of Wall Street topped the list of most pirated films in 2014, according to piracy tracking firm Excipio. ‘Exodus’ Tops Box Office with $24.5M Debut

Ridley Scott’s Exodus: Gods and Kings easily topped the U.S. box office this weekend with a $24.5 million debut, dethroning The Hunger Games: Mockingjay — Part 1, which had held the number one spot for the past three weeks. Exodus, which cost $140 million to make after tax breaks, also opened in several international territories, earning $43.3 million around the globe for distributor 20th Century Fox for a worldwide total of $74.3 million. Boomerang returns to Asia in a New Avataar

The popular children's network will debut its refreshed look across the territory from January 1st, 2015. Global kids brand and companion channel to Cartoon Network, Boomerang is relaunching across several markets in Asia. From January 1st, 2015, the network will offer exclusive original content for the first time, including new episodes of favourites from Warner Bros. Batman marks Milestone of 75th Anniversary with new Logo

To mark the milestone 75th anniversary of DC Comics’ Batman, Warner Bros. Entertainment and DC Entertainment have revealed plans for a year-long celebration befitting the world’s most popular Super Hero.  Highlights of the anniversary program, which , include a new commemorative 75th Anniversary Batman logo and an exclusive “Cape/Cowl/Create” art exhibit, featuring 20 contemporary artists’ interpretation of The Dark Knight’s iconic cowl headpiece and cape from the upcoming Batman: Arkham Knight videogame.
