Otter Media named Tom Pickett the CEO of new company

A week after announcing it was acquiring Fullscreen, Otter Media says it is forming a new company that will focus on building advertising & subscription based VOD channels with a former YouTube exec at the helm. Tom Pickett, former VP of content at YouTube, has been named CEO of the yet-to-be named new company that will be controlled by Otter Media, a joint venture between The Chernin Group and AT&T launched in April with $500 million in funding to invest in, acquire and launch OTT video services. Outfit7 extending to small screen with Spanish production – BRB Internacional

With its increasingly popular Talking Friends apps having now surpassed 1.5 billion downloads – and YouTube views steadily approaching eight figures – Cyprus-based entertainment company Outfit7 is extending that mobile success to the small screen with the help of Spanish production company BRB Internacional. The 52 x 11-minute new TV series, Talking Tom and Friends, will be produced in 3D by BRB’s creative studio Screen 21 and Outfit 7, based on the app series of the same name.  The tween-skewing series will see characters such as Talking Angela, Talking Ginger and Talking Ben maintain their original app design.
