Taipei comics festival draws over 400,000 visitors



Visitors flock to buy comics and products during the Taipei International Comics and Animation Festival.


The Taipei International Comics and Animation Festival closed on Saturday after drawing a higher attendance and posting stronger sales than last year.

The show attracted 409,000 visitors and generated around NT$180 million (US$5.9 million) in revenues over its four days, up from last year’s NT$130 million (US$4.3 million), according to the show’s organizer, the Taipei-based Chinese Animation and Comic Publishers Association.

Close to 50 exhibitors took part in the Feb.5-8 festival.
