The kids magician series is an official selection at this year’s Cartoon Forum, where TeamTO and Nexus will present the bible, trailer and an animatic of the first episode.

School of Magic stars a band of talented and inquisitive kids who dream of becoming magicians. Dylan, Izzy, Zach, Vincent and Veronica, all have one thing in common: a gift for illusion, conjuring, misdirection, and all things magical, so this summer they’re attending magic camp to live out their passion! And the School of Magic, run by legendary magician and illusionist Lawrence Deweerd, is the perfect place to do it!

Christian De Vita is a singular talent in the industry, having worked across a vast number of disciplines in both animation and live action, including direction, story artist, storyboarding, script writings, animation and character design.

De Vita has contributed his multi-award winning talents to top studios such as Aardman, Disney, Cartoon Network, Warner Brothers, BBC, and Collingwood.

Projects De Vita has worked on range from feature films (Fantastic Mr. Fox, Frankenweenie and TeamTO’s Yellowbird), to top rated global kids series (FrogBox and eOne’s PJ Masks, Chop Sooky Socks and Angelo Rules).

Commented Corinne Kouper, Producer and Head of Development at TeamTO, “Cartoon Forum is the ideal place to present projects that we have been working on during the entire year. The development of SCHOOL OF MAGIC has plunged us into a wonderful world of magic and illusion.”

Vita added, “For me the School of Magic is a way to rediscover the childhood memory, excitement and wonder of illusionism. I was a fan of illusionism as a child, especially the Victorian period.

The great challenge is to make this relevant to a contemporary audience. The setting and characters are so rich, each with their own distinct image, personality and style of magic which offers a deep source for great storytelling and a true magical experience… The inner workings and mysteries of a true school of illusionism.”
