Another landmark for the AVGC industry! Telangana VFX, Animation and Gaming Association(TVAGA) was officially launched by Telangana IT secretary Jayesh Ranjan at Ramoji Film City, Hyderabad, Telangana. This happened during the Global Animation Day felicitation event on 2 December 2017 at Indywood film carnival, Ramoji Film City. Jayesh feels that the Telangana Govt has always been proactive in providing schemes that can take the industry to the next level, but an association like TVAGA was much needed to execute those plans in the right way.
After Karnataka launched the new AVGC policy(2017-2022) recently for development of the AVGC industry, Telangana is another southern state which has taken steps in this direction.
“TVAGA will take the responsibility of skill development, infrastructure development, supporting and mentoring startups, organising industry events etc. Over 250 companies from this industry have already registered within the last week with TVAGA. On behalf of TVAGA, I thank the Govt. of Telangana for their support and encouragement towards this industry,” TVAGA President and GreenGold Animation CEO Rajeev Chilaka said to Animation Digital Digest.
During the launch, TVAGA president Rajiv Chilaka introduced core committee members, Srinivas Vasanthala (DQ), Rama Krishna (IACG), Surya (BackStage Pass), Arun (Game Shastra), Sanath (Firefly), Ravi (Golive Games) to the panel and the audience, and expressed his gratitude to be the part of the cause that can assist the industry in flourishing.
Some of the stalwarts from the AVGC industry like Ashish Kulkarni (Punnaryug Artvision founder), Sohan Roy (Indywood Film Carnival), Biren Ghose (Technicolor India), Rajiv Chilaka(Green Gold Animation), Madhav Reddy – Mike (Rotomaker VFX) and Pete Draper (Makuta VFX) were present at the ceremony. They expressed their views and strategies on how to give the industry in Telangana a new momentum in terms of skill development, infrastructure development, supporting and mentoring startups, organising industry events etc.
TVAGA is an exclusive non-profit association of animation, gaming, visual effects industry professionals. The objective of TVAGA is to promote and support animation, gaming and visual effects industry in Telangana. TVAGA connects all the stakeholders of the industry including artists, technicians, advisory, educators, studio executives, supervisors, PR/marketing specialists, producers, and entrepreneur and improve their welfare and professional integrity.
Through its various social platforms, the member of the TVAGA association will be informed and educated about industry updates, opportunities, and latest technologies. It is aimed to promote and foster the industry recognition among various communities including government sector.
There was a discussion at the event where the panel of industry leaders mentioned Telangana’s prowess with successful global IPs like Chotta Bheem and Baahubali. They further said TVAGA will act as a gate and help in exploring business opportunities, creative collaborations, and careers in the animation, gaming and VFX industries in Telangana.
