Published in 1943 by Antoine de Saint-Exupery as “Le Petit Prince,” the beloved book has been translated into more than 200 languages, and the property has been adapted for both film and TV numerous times. Paramount brought a live-action version of the book directed by Stanley Donen to the big screen in 1974, and the book most recently generated a French TV series produced at Method Animation that aired for three years beginning in 2010.

Kung Fu Panda director Mark Osborne is helming the latest version, a CG/stop-motion hybrid due to be released in France late next year. The script, written by Irena Brignull, adds to the story a little girl who discovers the Prince’s adventures with the stranded pilot/author:
