After a two-decade gap, Disney Channel is getting back its popular unscripted docu-series Bug Juice. The series, that has already gone into production is slated to air in early next year.
Marking Disney Channel’s foray into unscripted television, the Evolution Media-produced reality series initially aired for three seasons from February 1998 to October 2001.
Also produced by Evolution, the new version will focus on a group of kids ages 10 to 12 as they head to Waterford, Maine to attend Camp Waziyatah.
Earlier, Evolution had worked with Disney Channel on Movie Surfers, Totally in Tune and Totally Hoops.
The move falls in line with a wave of unscripted kids content that include Bristow Global Media‘s new TVO series It’s My Party and Universal Kids’s upcoming reality competition series Top Chef Junior.
Douglas Ross, Alex Baskin, Tina Gazzero Clapp and Toni Gallagher will serve as executive producers.
