Aquaman is still two months away from its release but already rumours about a sequel are stirring.

If the media reports are to be believed, director James Wan and star Jason Momoa indicate so.

Speaking to TotalFilm Magazine, Wan said: “There’s definitely stories, even within the world we’ve created, that you can actually see other storylines as well.” Whereas, Momoa revealed to TotalFilm he has already pitched an idea for Aquaman 2.

Meanwhile, a new photo from Aquaman has surfaced and it shows King Orm (Patrick Wilson) riding on the back of a sea creature known as a Tylosaur.

When previously talking about his character, Wilson was quoted as saying, “He’s kind of an eco-warrior. He’s got a very clear gripe with the surface world, which has been polluting his oceans for centuries.”

Aquaman will center on Aquaman as a reluctant ruler of the underwater kingdom of Atlantis who is caught between land dwellers that are always polluting the globe and his own people who are ready to invade the surface.

As per the official synopsis, the film reveals the origin story of half-human, half-Atlantean Arthur Curry and takes him on the journey of his lifetime-one that will not only force him to face who he really is but to discover if he is worthy of who he was born to be a king. Aquaman is the son of a human lighthouse keeper and the Atlantean queen (Nicole Kidman), making him the rightful heir to the throne. But in his marine journey, there are plenty of foes in his way, including Orm, the present King of Atlantis, and Black Manta, an armored mercenary and classic Aquaman foe.

The movie’s first trailer made a huge splash at San Diego Comic-Con in late July. As of early October, it’s been watched more than 40 million times.

The film is directed by James Wan and also stars Willem Dafoe and Nicole Kidman

Aquaman is all set to swim to theatres on December 21, 2018.
