Vancouver-based Atomic Cartoons, the animation studio owned by Thunderbird Entertainment is set to adapt author Max Brallier’s bestselling book series The Last Kids on Earth into an animated show.
After acquiring the rights, the studio has signed Brallier on to write and executively produce the series along with Atomic’s Jennifer McCarron and Matthew Berkowitz.
Development on the series has already started. This will follow Jack Sullivan and a group of zombie-fighting middle schoolers who live in a treehouse filled with video games and candy.
This news comes just as the third instalment of the book series nemely The Last Kids on Earth and the Nightmare King hit the shelves yesterday courtesy of Viking, a wing of Penguin Random House.
