First Cardiff Animation Festival calls for entries


The Cardiff Animation Festival will make a bow this year. And for this, the Festival authorities have opened its call for entries.

The deadline for submissions is 12th January 2018 with discounted Earlybird submissionscan be made until 13th October this year.

The event has called for entries of International animated shorts from all countries worldwide.

Established by the team from Cardiff Animation Nights, CAF will showcase some of the best animation from all over the world, with a broad selection of animated short films, features, masterclasses, workshops, filmmaker Q+As, industry panels, networking events and parties.

Among the shorts mentioned are animated student shorts, Welsh animated shorts, Micro animated shorts running at two minutes or less and Young animated shorts produced by young people under 16.

The CAF will be held at the Welsh capital’s vibrant arts hub that offers a brand new focal point for Cardiff’s growing animation community and a meeting place for industry, independent animators and enthusiasts from the wider animation world.

Over three days (April 20 to 22nd 2018), CAF will provide a new platform in Wales for the best of British and international animation, and will welcome independent filmmakers, exciting new talent and established industry greats to Europe’s youngest capital city.
