Paramount and Hasbro films to release in 4 months difference in 2020

Paramount Pictures has pushed back the release date of the third edition of SpongeBob SquarePants to July 31, 2020 from the original release date August 2, 2019.  This  besides Hasbro toy and game-inspired G.I. Joe  releasing in theaters  on March 27, 2020.

Paramount has also slated Micronauts for October 16, 2020 against an untitled Hasbro film to release on October 1, 2021.

Tabletop gaming fans can look forward to a new Dungeons & Dragons adaptation out on July 23, 2021.

Hopefully, this venture will turn out better than the 2000 attempt. It has been confirmed that Warner Bros. is no longer developing their D&D project.

Earlier this month, Paramount also dated its remake of Stephen King’s Pet Sematary giving it a darkly appropriate Easter weekend release on April 19. 2018.

Incidentally, the studio handled the original 1989 adaptation, a pop culture horror touchstone starring Dale Midkiff, Denise Crosby and Fred Gwynne.

The upcoming slate as earlier announced includes Sherlock Gnomes (March 23, 2018), Bumblebee (Dec. 21, 2018), Ilion Animation co-pro Amusement Park (March 15, 2019), Transformers 6 (June 28, 2019), Dora the Explorer (TBA 2019) and The Loud House (Feb. 7, 2020).
