Warner Bros. has chosen its director for a new interpretation of cat and mouse cartoon classic Tom and Jerry. Tim Story and Warner Bros are taking over the studio's Tom and Jerry project, which is to involve both live-action and CGI. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Warner Bros. is also producing an animated Scooby-Doo movie and has roped in 'Harry Potter' filmmaker Chris Columbus as the creative producer. Tom and Jerry began as a series of long-running shorts in 1940, created by William Hanna and Joseph Barbera. The series centered around the exploits of a cat, Tom, and his relentless arguments and tussles with Jerry, a mouse. DC has announced a new daily news show on the DC Universe service. Titled as DC Daily, the show will have live stream introduction which will be hosted by director and comic book writer Kevin Smith. Filmed and streamed daily from a newly-designed, 2,100-square-foot facility at the Warner Bros. Digital Networks studio in Burbank, CA, Daily's set will feature conversational seating, demonstration stations and stand-up viewing areas for hosts, guest commentators and special guests.
