Universal Brand Development (UBD) has unveiled details of the UK consumer products roll out of the action-packed animated series DreamWorks Voltron Legendary Defender.
The reimagining of one of the most popular fan-favourite shows of all time, the series follows five unsuspecting teenagers, transported from Earth into the middle of a sprawling intergalactic war as they become pilots for five robotic lions in a battle to protect the universe from evil. Only through the true power of teamwork can they unite to form the mighty warrior known as Voltron.
Voltron Legendary Defender has played on Netflix since June 2016 to critical acclaim and is now expanding its reach with Sony’s POP channel confirmed as the free-to-air home of the show in the UK.
POP celebrated the arrival of the series with a three-part special that was broadcast on 23rd September and later repeated on 24th September.
Now fans can tune in to watch the show at the regular prime-time slots of 18.30pm – 19.30pm every week day and 08.00am – 09.00am and 18.30am – 19.30pm every Saturday and Sunday, and the show will be continually promoted via watch and win competitions, trailers and presence on www.popfun.co.uk

The range consists of six lines where individual entry price Voltron figures can be bought including figures of the Blue, Red, Green, Black, and Yellow lions as well as Voltron in its complete form.
All five die cast items can be collected and combined to form a 16” Voltron. Also available is the complete Ultimate Voltron, and role-play toys are also offered for fans that want to transform into Voltron. Retail price points will range from £9.99 to £49.99, offering something for all fans and collectors who will love the combination of classic design that has been upgraded with modern tech, bringing the original version of Voltron to life like never before!
The consumer products programme will be further expanded in Autumn/Winter 2018 with publishing and home entertainment; apparel, home, party and FMCG will be added for 2019.
